So far Shane Miller and Myself are about the only contributers to the
lazarus project. This
has not slowed the development any at all. Myself and I think I can speak
for Shane are highly motivated
towards our goal. A few more eyes on the code does help and we look forward
to enlisting a few more members.

I would also like to thank the FPC team they are great and have given us
VERY MUCH SUPPORT.

I would also like to thank Michael Hess who has helped us greatly along the
way also.

Cliff

Hi Cliff,

Sounds great!!! To have an IDE for FPC running under Linux would be
a *very* impressive accomplishment! The presence of even a simple IDE
would attract Delphi developers (like me) from win32 and let us
start working with and porting our source code and applications to
Linux. You'll also get access to help with completing Lazarus... if
you decide that you need some.

But I think you're on the right track with a small number of people
working on the project. Megido has several hundred... but they also
have the BIG headache of trying to coordinate them all! I've seen
too many other projects where the actual coding effort was diluted or
destroyed by politics, over designing, nit picking and flaming email
exchanges. The lesson seems to be that it's better for a few
compatible people to be very focused and productive than try to
enlist the whole world... and then be stuck managing all the
"problem" personalities!

A tight and productive team was FPC's development model and it seems
to have worked very well for them... and I'm hoping it will for
Lazarus as well!

Best regards and happy coding! :)

-Tom
