Personally at work I use DCOM also but our components can also run in most
winblows orbs.

DCOM is ok if you don't mind the installation woes. I personally use as much
java and corba as possible to eliminate the distribution nightmares.

My boss believes that CORBA is dead and replaced by Windows' DCOM technology
as an intenational accepted standard. You should once talk to him :-)
