Why not stick to Interbase ? FPC supports it.

Yes, every X application has this possibility. The remote X-sessions perform
very well; I haven't compared with NT TS though. Since the remote-X stuff
has been built in in X since it was started, I expect performance to have
been an issue since the beginning.
