I get the following ON WINDOWS NT:

Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkcontainer.c: line 704: assertion `widget->parent == NUL
L' failed.

Gtk-WARNING **: gtk_signal_connect(): could not find signal "clicked" in the `Gt
kVBox' class ancestry

So the first message is the same. The second one is more mysterious to me...
