Hello Folks,

I downloaded

  ftp://lazarus.freepascal.org/lazarus/uxml.zip

from Michael. But that was *NOT* the problem, because I have exactly this
units in the right directory.

Then I tried Nirendras hint to copy XMLCFG to Lazarus directory. No success.

1. I copied the whole directory to a Windows ME PC (my wifes PC) and tried
to compile. No success.
2. I copied the whole directory to a Windows 98 PC (my dougthers PC) and
tried to compile. No success.
(sorry - have no Windows 95 PC).

Then I made a fresh installation on the Windows 98 PC. No success.
Copied the new MAKE.EXE and SH.EXE into pp\bin\win32. Better - but no
success.
changed the PATH and added the unit-directory into the PATH. no success
Used Nirendras hint, but copied the files into pp\bin\win32. OH - success on
"make components"!
copied mwedit-directories into pp\bin\win32. success on "make ide".
success on "make examples".

started lazarus.exe. Oh - what's that? Looking strange, blinking, has
nothing to do with the KDE screenshots on
http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/screenshots.php3?&language=english

copied all back to the win nt pc and compiled again, success. Lazarus.exe
runs but is not usable. I'll try this week a linux installation. but I am a
newcomer on Linux so I really do not know what I do :-) The Linux PC is
running as a internet server for our home-network only and I needed a lot of
evenings and gallons of beer to get them run (if you know what frustration
is :-)

thanks for help.

Mario
