Hi all,

First of all, I'd like to thank you FPC and Lazarus developers for
bringing our lovely pascal language to Mac. Though perhaps it isn't easy
for average Joe, but it's very easy for a developer to get a working FPC
and Lazarus on a Mac machine. I never imagine I would be able to use
"delphi" on mac! :-D And yes, I'm using Laz's carbon widgetset. So, no
X, no gtk, is required.

I'm so excited to get FPC and Lazarus running on my new macbook pro with
MacOS X Leopard (x86). It still has some glitches here and there,
though. But to be able to make an application on Mac using provided
components with Delphi-like paradigm (RAD) is overwhelming me! :)

Thank you very much! :)

I understand that Laz's support for mac with carbon is still on beta
stage (or should I say alpha?). Compiling Laz 9.25 with "bigide"
argument didn't give me an exact palette set as I used to get on Linux
(Ubuntu). Some components are missing. But some of those are actually
works on runtime instantiation e.g. sqlDB.

Installing package onto the IDE always failed with "Failed to run tool"
regarding the package AND the other package as well. Any hints how to
overcome this problem?

For any help, I thank you in advance.

As I got this new macbook pro, I'll do most of my development on this
machine. I hope I'll be able to help testing the carbon widgetset, the
IDE, and the compiler on this platform and report any problems I found
with them on the mantis.

FYI, I'm using FPC 2.3.1 and Laz 9.25 from SVN. It seems that FPC 2.2.1
and Laz 9.24 doesn't quite ready for Mac. I got lots of trouble when I
use them on the first attempt. And most problems are gone as I upgrade
to FPC 2.3.1 and Lazarus 9.25. Very well done! ;)
