I do not think that 2 months are a good time to wait.
Personally I think there should be some additional commit rights for some
users in the projects, and the load might spread better.

Does your patches important for you ? If so, try to make them a priority.
As I said, the Lazarus theme must have additional "blood" in the
development, that reduce some load.
Further more, what are you doing in order to help the theme to apply your
patches, deal with your bugs etc... ?
