Well, I *do* use gtk1 in my big comercial application suite. I stopped 
reporting gtk1 bugs because it was announced here on mailing list, that 
gtk1 bugs will be resolved/suspended unless they are reported with 
proper patch.
Since this announcement, I stopped updating lazarus, because I *need* 
gtk1 .. it is IMHO still the only stable/usable lcl-ws on linux.
