I have several ebooks that I bought from the pragmatic bookstore. They are
DRM free pdf, that I can actually copy paste the PDF.
Some have my name inside (part of the generating process) and some are
without, but no DRM.

I use PDF both on my phone (not that convenient to read) and my laptop, and
it's much easier for me to use it digitally then with paper. I also prefer
to have it digital rather then as paper, but I do not want any DRM
limitation. Because the DRM is limiting also the environment where to use
it, for example your iPad (why Apple ?!), Kindle etc...
If they really like to, they can generate each copy with the name of the
person who bought it as part of the PDF, so you can know if someone had
copied it.
