[Lazarus] How is the versions info in the IDE worked out?

FYI: please note that fpcup show the "branch" revision (the revision of
e.g. the Lazarus trunk branch) as well as the repository-wide revision,
which is always the same or higher (there can be commits in other
branches that push that revision number).
