Some clients take the subject into account, because in the mists of time 
messages which originated at or passed through certain (MS?) systems had 
their headers mangled.

I agree that it would have been appropriate for people to have deleted 
the <SHOUT>SPAM<UNSHOUT> annotation. But far better would have been 
avoiding the exhortation "Win 10 IOT Core (no purchase required)" in the 
first place, which was guaranteed to trip spam filters :-)
