[Lazarus-es] maskedit

Gente,

sigo sin que logre andar el Maskedit. les copio las propiedades que tengo establecidas:

  object METimeStamp: TMaskEdit
    Left = 8
    Height = 23
    Top = 64
    Width = 144
    BiDiMode = bdRightToLeftReadingOnly
    BorderStyle = bsSingle
    MaxLength = 10
    ParentBiDiMode = False
    ParentColor = False
    TabOrder = 2
    OnChange = METimeStampChange
    EditMask = '0'
    Text = '_'
    SpaceChar = '_'

y me aparece el siguiente error en tiempo de ejecución:

Project raised exception class 'EDBEditError' with message: Error setting text ...!

Alguna ayuda? Gracias
