Hello,

I copy some quotes from John Kaster at the end of this message. The
last one isn't related to the topic, but it shows how Kaster's posting
are considered "the voice of Borland" in their newsgroups.

I finally succeeded with such API independance... just to realize that
it would be messy for components developers :-(
>Oh well, good luck with whatever you intend on doing. :-)
Thanks!! :-)

We never denied that we were looking at Linux. We've been looking at
Linux
since before customers were asking for it. We already have products
that
RUN on Linux.
As I have said before, just because you haven't heard anything about a
certain subject from us doesn't mean nothing is going on.
It's still pretty obvious we don't have enough resources since we're
hiring
Linux people, isn't it?

That doesn't mean we were never going to do it. Just that we couldn't
at
that time.
> Borland has decided to stop looking and start acting with regard to Linux.
Again, we've been working on Linux for quite some time.

Just so you know, it is extremely unlikely that we will have native
support
for Paradox tables on Linux.

I have made clear official things in threads in this newsgroup. You
just
have to read back through the newsgroup, or check the Delphi 5 tracker
site.
Our marketing department would have to put out the "official"
announcements,
and I'm not in marketing any more.
