[lazarus] Lazarus' objectives

Along with the objectives that Michael mentioned, I must say this. For those compiling the software for the first time, you can take a look at it and notice that it is exactly like Delphi. Therefore you can actually compile it in delphi.
Currently the problem is that we don't use .dfm and .dpr files so you can't "technically" compile it under Delphi, but the code is compatable.
I'm not sure what environments FPC runs on but whatever environment it runs on, the theory is that Lazarus could be compiled there. Currently you would need GTK to be ported there too, but in the future you will be able to use GTK, QT, ABCDEF, or whatever widget set you want.
Of course someone will need to write the interface for those tools to Lazarus.

All,
I've just downloaded and compiled the latest version of Lazarus. No hassles
whatsoever. Great stuff!
I really anxious to see how it will turn out.
Meanwhile I have some questions perhaps you can answer.
1) What are project Lazarus' objectives?
2) How portable will code be between Windows32 and Linux?
3) Are there any plans of creating a UNIX Solaris version of Lazarus?
Thanks,
Keep up the great work!
