OK, can anyone give me a clue on this? I am assumimg that GTK uses GDK to actually draw the controls and such. I was thinking that by going through the pgtkwindow struct I could trace something to gdk but I haven't. can anyone tell me how to access the canvas of the gtkwindow? Shane
