Well, this could be caused by your firewall (if you have one) in which case
you'd have to get someone to update the zip file for you (as you initially
asked) or talk nicely to your system administrator :)

As far as I know, CVS uses TCP port 2401, so if your sysadmin can let that
port through the firewall (maybe just between your machine and the CVS
server) that might sort out your problems.  Of course he might not want to
punch a hole in the firewall.

I don't know what that is, but I don't think it should affect CVS at all.
