I have been checking the last few nights and can find nothing what so ever
that even looks like VCL code. The way we structured it totally eliminates
any chance that a copy of code would even remotely work.
But in any case do not copy any code it would not do you any good anyhow.

Subject: [lazarus] Borland and copyright issues
Greetings,
I don't know how many of you have read the emails on the other FPC
mailing list about copyright issues and Free Vision. It appears that a
large portion of the Free Vision code was taken verbatim from the
Borland TV code. I just want to make sure that everyone creating code
for Lazaurs is NOT just copying code out of the VCL. I think for the
most part we have created original code since it must work in a totally
different fashion using independent API methodology.
As has been mentioned before, Borland is very aware of who and what we
are and from looking at the logs I know that they visit the site on
occasion. They have also said that they look into code to make sure that
no one is using their code. The last thing we need is a lawsuit because
we are using their copyrighted code.
What follows is an excerp from the Inprise License Agreement that we all
agreed to if we are using Delphi in the first place.
======================
All Inprise libraries, source code, Redistributables and
other files remain Inprise's exclusive property. Regardless
of any modifications that you make, you may not distribute
any files (particularly Inprise source code and other non-
executable files) except those that Inprise has expressly
designated as Redistributables.
======================
It is the phrase "Regardless of any modifications that you make..." that
they can catch us with.
All I am asking is that everyone be sure that they are coding without
copying from the Delphi VCL. Now that Borland has commited to providing
a Linux version of Delphi the stakes have changed.
