[lazarus] Running under Win32-GTK

Trying to run anything under win32 with GTK (in this case the hello
example) I get the following.

E:\pp\source\lazarus\examples>hello
[TWinControl.Insert] THELLO --> Insert: THELLO ()
Creating a font
[TgtkObject.IntSendMessage3] TFONT --> Create
Sending Message
received a SETFONTNAME message

Exiting Canvas.Create
At end of ExceptionAddresStack

Nothing else happens, no window, no nothing.  Is this to be expected
because so much is in transition?
