I'll look at it tonight, although I think nobody changed anything with the 
timer. Few questions about this:

 - Is this behaviour new?
 - Are you already using gtk 1.2.4 (I'm still at 1.2.3)?
 - Do you see this under windows or linux (I have only Linux up & running)?
