This is how I have the system set up now..
I have a user specified in the system cvsadmin with password cvs
I entered this line in the inetd.conf
2401 stream tcp nowait root /usr/bin cvs --allow-root=/usr/local/cvsroot
I do not have a CVSROOT environment variable set could this be the problem?
Cliff

Did you specify --allow-root=/usr/local/cvsroot in the /etc/inetd.conf file
?
(Newer versions of CVS require this)
