You can do what you need to do today but I will check out the lazarus source
this evening and
add bitmap support.

Anyone load a tbitmap successfully yet?. I was looking at the source last
night but it appeared to be blank
should I add this support? I do not wish to step one anyone elses code.

Derive them from TGraphicsControl like Delphi and paint on its canvas in the
Paint method. I don't think you need gtk for this one.
