[lazarus] Lazarus and IB

Hi

Is Lazarus ready for Interbase? My clients use IB 5. I have used IB4 for
Linux with the same data and found things going smooth. I can'nt seem to
wait to shift the thing to Linux. Are there other tools that I can  begin
until Lazarus is is fully alive? Heard about an Interpreter by name Python.
Me being a Delphi-only programmer , am scared to go in for the direct Api
stuff using C.
