I guess it should be part of XFree86. Which Linux distribution do you use? In 
Debian the package might be xlibmesa or something like that (you can download 
Debian packages at http://packages.debian.org/). If you use an RPM based 
system, I suggest you just search for "libglx.a" on http://www.rpmfind.net/.
