The IDE doesn't work yet.  And the window you see is the splash screen; 
I did have the beginning of code to paint the pixmap, but it's been 
commented out of the code.  Maybe in the future, a cross-platform image 
solution can be found.

If you run the IDE from the command line and direct the program's output 
to a text file, you can see everything that happened.  The splash screen 
is created.  After you close the splash screen, various components are 
created and you get an exception in there, some place.
