I have much the same problem. I can create a simple program, and compile it -
a process which takes about 10 minutes (!) on a very fast computer, with
continual disk activity. Then it completes (successfully, it says), but my
program doesn't run, and there's no executable file created.
Other fpc/gtk programs compile (in a fraction of a second) and run just fine.
