[lazarus] Packaging request

I know this is too much to ask of, but I'm gonna do it anyway.

I have done a lot of Delphi programming at my former workplace. I'd like to 
try Lazarus and see if I can help. However I can't figure out what packages I 
need. There seem to be like 50+ tarballs and other files in the download 
directory. I am completely lost.

Is there anyway you could work on making it easier to get startet on working 
with lazarus?
