What do you mean? Exactly what is scary????

If you mean being able to install and uninstall then you can do that if 
you use the FPC RPM files that I pointed to.

As for Lazarus just untar it where you want it. Then if you want to 
remove it just delete the directory. It doesn't install anything 
anyplace but in the directory that you untar it to.

Or am I not understanding your concern?
