[Lazarus] unable to rebuild lazarus

Hi,

Since my latest Lazarus svn update of today, I noticed the editor
cursor (caret) behaves differently.

eg:
I could place the cursor in column 30 and press the down arrow.
Irrespective of the amount of characters in each line I cross, the
cursor will stay at column 30.

I played around with the editor settings to see if I can get that
functionality back again. The closest I could get was "Keep caret X
position".  But even then the cursor jumps around (to eol positions)
if I went from a long line to a few short lines.  This is distracting.

Was the constant cursor (caret) position feature removed on purpose,
or was it broken by accident due to the last couple of editor changes?
