In the Ubuntu repositories, it has been available for some time. See
attached screenshot. Though, looking at the versions, none of them are
the latest releases of FPC or Lazarus.

So a simple 'sudo apt-get install' command will do the job.

PS:
I have no idea who maintains those packages though. If anybody knows,
please let that person know they are outdated.  I'm using Ubuntu 9.04
(x86-64)
