I think there must be many controls in the detail (advanced) page because the 
build process itself is complicated. The same problem is with the current 
build dialog.

You can click the "Hide Details <<" button and they go away :-)
This detail-page visibility is saved for each project. You could define the 
details hidden for most build profiles and then define an "advanced" profile 
or something that shows the details.
