All good an well, but the buildfaq is not an available option to
download from the freepascal.org website.

Not to mention that -V is not listed in the "fpc -h" output as shown
below. I tried FPC 2.2.5 and FPC 2.3.1 - both latest revisions
available.
Also the help for -T<x> as listed below seems to be very different to
what you are talking about. So no, it doesn't seem to be that obvious
as you suggested. :-(

I typed the following to get the above output:

What's the difference between 'fpc' and 'ppcXXX'...? I assumed 'fpc'
it's some symlink or alias to your platform's real pppXXX binary.
