Why? What is the error message?

I would recommend to uninstall previous version first.

You can take snapshot from http://www.hu.freepascal.org/lazarus/ (I 
would recommend Lazarus 0.9.28.3 with FPC 2.4.0). You can download 
sources there too. You can also use SVN to download sources.
