Hi Michael Van Canneyt,
Gee, the famous developer of FPC. Nice to meet you.
I will study your reply. At the moment I am have problems actually finding
fp and fpc binaries on my Mint 10 system (Linux).
see attached file, my system, when I do a "locate fp" gives me 9924 results!
The documentation *appears* to not say the location fp and fpc binaries.
Where is fp ide located on my Mint 10 Linux system?
http://www.freepascal.org/docs-html/user/usersu26.html#x53-600006.1.1
I would like to suggest adding a table here listing the default locations
for fp and fpc on different platforms. Tables are, of course, standard html.
I have included below an ASCII mockup, as I am using gmail and I cannot
quickly generate a html file, on the run.
This data could even be stored in a comma separated value (csv) file,
allowing importing into pascal programs.
If you can supply me with the csv data file as an attachment the I will edit
the page (
http://www.freepascal.org/docs-html/user/usersu26.html#x53-600006.1.1 ) with
kompozer and send the html page to you.
Table 6.1 - Default location for fpc and fp binary files

6.1.1 Starting the
IDE<http://www.freepascal.org/docs-html/user/user.html#QQ2-53-62>
The IDE is started by entering the command:
fp
at the command line. It can also be started from a graphical user interface
such as Windows.
Remark: Under Windows, it is possible to switch between windowed mode and
full screen mode by pressing Alt-Enter.
