Did I mention I really dislike "wrapping native widgetsset" design!  :-(
It seems to have more limitations than anything else - or it's just my damn
luck that every time I try and use LCL I hit yet another
restriction/limitation.

Sorry, I thought seeing that GTK2 is the default under Linux (and supposed
to be in stable state I think), that it has all such silly restrictions
already set.

So is this restriction for Qt and Mac too?
