I'd recommend to use the same syntax as inno-setup. Although developed
on Windows the syntax seems fine and it should be possible to extend it
where neccessary. Some of the advantages

  * fully documented

  * you can use the inno-setup editor (as long as you don't have one)

  * people are used to it
