My conclusion is that Linux does not need a new standard but Lazarus debug output can be improved. Perhaps mplemented via OutputDebugString() on windows and some stdout magic on real ...aehm I mean other operating systems or a self made cross-plattform solution.
We agree that we want a better debug output but the problem is more pressing on Win than on Linux, as there are easy workarounds on the *nix side.
I just don't like bringing windows solutions to Linux where the problem simply does not exist.
