[Lazarus] Horizontal scrollbar in Listbox

I have a Listbox that's dynamically filled. When one Item's length is larger
than the current size, the horizontal scrollbar appears. So far, so good.
After that, if the Listbox is filled with a different set of short Items,*the
horizontal scrollbar does not disappear*. Is there a way to make it go?
I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 with FPC 2.4.0 and Lazarus from SVN.
