Take a look in the MSEgui code. There is a serial components already
created. Martin (author of MSEide & MSEgui) will can give you more
details on it. Either way, it should be less effort to port that to
plain FPC neutral code  (that's if there are any MSEgui dependencies -
I don't know), than starting from scratch.
