There is also NX (freenx) which behaves very similar to Microsoft
RDP/Terminalserver (except that it uses X instead). You can disconnect
from a runing session and later attach to it again without having to
close the session. It is orders of magnitude faster than VNC, you can
even run it through ISDN or Modem connections reasonably well.
