I'm past the stage of always wanting the bleeding edge stuff. Now I just 
want a stable system that always works. :)

Ah, I also fell into that trap with Ubuntu 8.04 auto updates. I had to 
revert to an older kernel on my laptop to get my ATI drivers working 
again. The open source Radeon driver isn't really as fast as the 
proprietary driver, so I had no choice.
