*Open* is *Abrir*. Look in any dictionary. *Load* is *Carregar*. Look in 
any dictionary. You can *open* a file for reading, writing or both, like 
opening a book or notebook to do the same. In "computerese" *load* is 
used to fill memory with something that may or may not come from a file 
that was opened.
