well I am not a native English speaker, but are we sure "cycle" is 
better (in terms of correctness) than "circle" (or maybe "circular")?

I would usually associate "cycle" with  "wash cycle" "life cycle": a 
period (time span) of a greater happening.
(German "zyklus")
