Yes, but this was about the different preferences of expert users.
I did write about beginners in the part you did not quote.

Besides, as I pointed out above, you do not need to do that:

If there are 2 build modes, you can completely ignore that they exist.
- Edit options (applies to active BM)
- Compile, or do anything that uses the settings (use active BM)

So it just works.

The "besides" above was: If you are aware, and do not like it, then you 
can remove it
