[Lazarus] Blinks when clicks in a tab editor

It happens here under stock Gnome 2 desktop environment, and under JWM
(Joe's Window Manager).

What is even more strange is that if I have a few tabs open, say 8 tabs
in the editor. The "white flash" occurs with every tab change, except
when I go from the 5th tab back to the 4th tab. This is reproducible
with 5+ tabs, even after a Lazarus IDE restart and even reproducible
between window manager switches (eg: Gnome 2 DE -> JWM or back).

So what makes tabs 4 & 5 special? I can video this if you wanted to see.
