What does the logcat say?


You need to have

|<uses-permission  android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"/>
|

in the Android manifest


And it has to be called in  a new thread, unless you have

|if  (android.os.Build.VERSION.SDK_INT>  9)  {
StrictMode.ThreadPolicy  policy=
         new  StrictMode.ThreadPolicy.Builder().permitAll().build();
StrictMode.setThreadPolicy(policy);
}

in the java file
