Regarding control delete not working here is what I've found:

Drop a control on the docked form designer
If you press delete with any control selected nothing happens
  What should happen is the control is removed from the docked form designer

BUT

If you have the object inspector visible, and the component tree visible
above it, you can select a control using the tree.
After you select one control from the component tree, you can then select
go back to the docked form designer and press the delete key.
The delete key will then work as intended until you create a new form and
the process must be repeated.

So in summary, selecting a control in the component tree somehow fixes this
bug.

System details: Gtk2 on Ubuntu with AnchorDocking installed
