A complicated example:

Label1.Caption:=WideChar($25BD);

With fixes_1_4(and FPC 3.0.0) I see a question mark on the screen, with 
fixes_1_6 I see the wanted "WHITE DOWN-POINTING TRIANGLE".
I am happy with fixes_1_6! :-)
