[lazarus] fun, fun ..

Excellent post.

I have to admit that I haven't read the docs on opensource.org either, and
I should have (I will this weekend!). I've started an OS project and
already am feeling the effects of the lack of codebase. It's tough when
you have a good idea, that lends itself to OS development, then sit on it
until the time is right.

I have the feeling that this is where the "leadership" issue comes into
play. It's not really leadership in the sense of telling others what to do
and how to do it, it's having an already implemented framework that others
can add to if they like.

That being said, kudos to Cliff and Shane for their efforts! We're in kind
of a difficult situation where OS development is relatively new (and
subject to some mistakes) and being a cutting edge project, the tools are
in development and not that easy to work with. The efforts of everyone
involved are greatly appreciated by me!

I look forward to getting my project on track and helping out here where
possible, even if only to provide some example code to this project. The
delphi/linux/ms deal rumours only add fuel to my desire to see this work.

Have a good weekend, all :)

mz.
