[lazarus] mwEdit Lock in CVS

I just read an article on the archive (i've been away for a while), about
the "dir lock in CVS" and someone saying that they created that directory
and that they can't delete it.

Is there a way to go around this problem ?
(i'd love to check out the new stuff.. aparently a lot of stuff happenned
while i was away..)

The first error message i get in CVS is :
vs server: failed to create lock directory in repository
`/FPC/CVS/fpc/lazarus/components/mwedit.0.92A': Unknown error
18446744073709485823

Which, i am assuming is probably just a permission problem (?). The cvs
process is unable to create the "CVS" dir in that directory ?

Note that i am no expert, but that might be worth looking at :o)
