Don't go to the snapshot directory. Go to the source directory. In it is
the lastest .zip files of the various source. The source is the same for
all platforms. Be sure to get the fpc10.zip file. This one contains the
latest 1.0.x release while the other files contain the current
development release.

Still your best way of getting it is with CVS.
